UP Logs Its Highest COVID Load Till Date With 30596 Cases And 129 Deaths
Lucknow, April 18 (TNA) The Covid pandemic situation in the state worsened on Sunday with a whopping 30596 fresh cases of the dreaded virus being reported from Uttar Pradesh.
The state also logged 129 deaths in one single day. The condition of the state capital Lucknow remained critical with 5551 new cases and 22 deaths being reported.
Varanasi, the parliamentary constituency of prime minister Narendra Modi logged the second highest cases - 2011 and ten deaths on a day when Modi himself spoke to leaders and officials of the holy city to understand the ground situation. Kanpur city recored 1839 cases and eight deaths.
Situation in Prayagraj remained worrying as 1711 cases were reported and 15 deaths took place in the past 24-hours. There has been sudden surge in the number of cases in Noida, with the NCR district reporting 3 deaths and 700 fresh cases.
Ghaziabad reported 253 cases and 2 deaths, Gorakhpur 781 cases, Meerut (782), Bareilly (868), Jhansi (954), Agra 440, Saharanpur (317) , Muzaffarnagar 381, Ayodhya 357, Lakhimpur Kheri (590), Jaunpur (511), Ghazipur (814), Sonebhadra (415), Sultanpur (481), Unnao (566), Barabanki (316), and Shamli (205).
Almost all districts are showing double to three digit numbers of fresh cases. The government seems to be completely paralysed and the chief minister and all the top brass of his team down with the virus. There is a huge scarcity of oxygen, beds, medicines and long lines are being witnessed outside crematoriums.
