Under 'Mission Shakti', 4.61 Crore Children Sensitised In Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow, Nov 25 (TNA) So far, 4 crore 61 lakh 77 thousand 984 children have been made aware by the Department of Women Welfare in UP in association with Child Development Services and Nutrition Department under Mission Shakti Abhiyan, a government spokesman said on Wednesday.

By organizing special programs in rural and urban areas of UP by the department, people have been made aware about the safety, health and mental health of women and children. The Chairman of Children's Commission, Dr. Vishesh Gupta informed that counselling of children in primary and degree colleges is being done by psychiatrists across the state.

On behalf of the department, the women icon of Mission Shakti is directly enhancing their morale by communicating with children and women on the one hand and making them aware of their rights. On behalf of the department, members of Child Line, Child Welfare Committee and Children Commission are providing information about good touch bad touch, sexual harassment, gender inequality to children through various programs.

The employees working in the One Stop Center on behalf of the Women Welfare Department will be given a capsule training on the laws related to women and children. The center manager, counsellor and case workers of all forest stop centers in the state will be imparted this training in three batches. Under which the workers will be informed about the legal rights related to women and children.

Under the Mission Shakti, women and children will talk to DM's in the state later today. For this, a two-hour dialogue program will be organised in every district, in which women and daughters will speak directly to the District Magistrate on local problems as well as sexual abuse, domestic violence, dowry, economic problems, access to education.

The District Magistrate will give directions to the concerned departments or officials on the spot. Manoj Kumar Rai, the nodal officer of Director Women's Welfare and Mission Shakti, said that webinars, dedicated phone lines, video conferencing will be used in the districts to speak directly to the District Magistrate.

At this event will give women a chance to raise their problems on the appropriate forum, while their reluctance will also be removed. Apart from this, if a woman or child is not hearing on nutrition and health related issues or any other issues, then they can talk directly with the District Magistrate.
