Top Cop Discovers A Crime Register Of Mughal Times At Kanpur Police Station

Kanpur, June 13 (TNA) The Uttar Pradesh police is often slammed for one thing or another. But the men-in-khakhi also do good things at times and one such commendable work of theirs was discovered during a surprise visit conducted by ADG (Kanpur) Bhanu Bhaskar on Saturday.

When the top-ranking officer, visited the Narwal Kotwali and was reviewing the old records manned by the cops he was in fr a pleasant surprise. The policemen at the police station had carefully preserved a historic crime record register some 121 years old.

This register-number 8, belonged to the Mughal times and had been carefully preserved in the police records.

It was in Arabic and despite being in tatters are some places had been safely and carefully kept. Bhaskar took to Twitter on Sunday and informed of this historic preserve and commended the policemen for maintaining such a treasure trove.
