Tension In Agra Village After Body Of Missing Eight-Year-Old Found In Haystack

AGRA || Tension has been reported from a village in Agra district of Uttar Pradesh when the body of an 8-year-old, who went missing since the past two days, was discovered in a hay stack on Thursday morning.

Police has since been deployed to ensure there is no untoward incident. The deceased boy Updesh, was son of Raghunath Singh Yadav, a farmer of Dhaurra. His only son had gone missing on Tuesday afternoon after being last spotted playing outside the house.

Angry villagers say that had communicated the matter to the police and also shared their apprehension that a youth, from the minority community, who lived nearby, could be behind the disappearance of the child.

Villagers now allege that police did not "take up the matter properly and seriously enough". A villager informed that a case of kidnapping was registered by the police on Wednesday afternoon after the intervention of a local lawmaker Ram Pratap Singh Chauhan.

The relatives alleged that the police did not strictly interrogate the accused and as a result the family lost their only child. Intriguingly five years ago, Updesh's 17-year-old cousin had also disappeared in a similar manner. SSP Babloo Kumar said that an in-depth investigation was underway and the guilty would be brought to justice.
