Overhead Electric Wires At Kanpur Central Hit By Incessant Rains, Many Trains Stalled

Kanpur, Oct 10 (TNA) Due to incessant rains, the operation of trains came to a standstill at 9.30 pm on Sunday night due to failure of the Over Head Electric (OHE) near the Central Railway Station. Due to this the Rajdhani Express as well as other express and mail trains were stranded on the platforms of Central Station, outer and nearby stations, an official informed. Its most impact was felt on the trains of Delhi-Howrah route.

After the sudden fault, the work of rectifying the problem was started by sending motor wagons on information from the traffic officials of the railways. Till the time of writing this report, operation of trainswas at a standstill and it was still time for the operations to be resumed, the official further informed.
