More Than 11,000 Train Tickets Cancelled As Railways Cancels 18 Trains Due To Onset Of Fog

Prayagraj, Dec 2 (TNA) Due to possible of dense fog in the coming days, 18 trains passing through North Central Railway (NCR) zone have been cancelled. The cancellations became effective from Thursday, December 1. This decision of the Railways has caused trouble to those passengers, who had booked their tickets in advance.

According to an estimate, during the next three months, about 11,000 tickets booked from all the stations of NCR have been cancelled. People have started thronging the reservation counters to get the ticket canceled.

About 70 per cent of the cancelled tickets are e-tickets making them worry for the procedure of refunds. Although according to the rules of the railway, if the train is canceled then the refund comes in 48-hours.

Divisional Rail Users Consultative Committee (DRUCC) member Pawan Srivastava has raised the question that when the Railways knows that it has to cancel trains from December 1, then why its booking was not stopped in advance.
