Jailed SP Leader Mohd Azam Khan Gets Unexpected Support From Mayawati

Lucknow, May 12 (TNA) Beleagured Samajwadi Party (SP) leader Mohd Azam Khan found suprise support from unexpected quarters on Thursday as Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati said his being incarcerated in jail for the past two years was like “strangulating justice”.

In a series of tweets, the four-time UP chief minister said the case of Khan was reflective of the ongoing persecution of the minorities, the poor, the Dalits and oppressed class under the watch of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in states like Uttar Pradesh where it is in power.

“Like Congress, the BJP is also trageting these maginalised sections of the society and they are being harrassed no ends” the BSP supremo said. She also charged the Yogi Adityanath government of terrorising and targeting with malcious intent its political opponents.
