Double Murder Rocks Meerut, Couple Found Dead In Bed Room With Their Throat Slit
Meerut, May 16 (TNA) The city was rocked by a double murder on Monday when bodies of a couple, with their throats slit, were recovered from the bed room of their home in the posh area of Shastri Nagar. The husband and wife living in Sector 6 were murdered apparently at night. As soon as the information was received, IG Nachiketa Jha and SSP Rohit Sajwan reached the spot.
The wife was a schoolteacher. According to the information, the teacher Mamta and her husband Bittan were killed in their home, which is located in another lane opposite to the Bholeshwar temple in Shastri Nagar area. It is being said that the bodies of the husband and wife were found lying on the bed on the first floor of the house, while Bittan's elderly parents were sleeping downstairs.
Pramod alias Bittan used to work in Sariya factory in Ghaziabad. During police interrogation, the elderly parents told that they did not see anyone entering the house.
There are two ways to enter the house. SP City Piyush Singh told that at present the couple has been found in a blood-soaked condition. Right now information is being gathered that what is the reason for the murder. A forensic team has been pressed into action and all possible motives are being explored, an official privy to preliminary investigation informed.
