Covid Enters Lucknow District Court: CJM, Five Judges And Ten Lawyers Test Positive

Lucknow, January 18 (TNA) With coronavirus cases on a surge in most parts of Uttar Pradesh now, including in the state capital, Covid has now entered the judiciary.On Tuesday, 10 lawyers including the Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) and five judges of the district court tested positive for Covid.

As a result of this, the district court has been closed for two-days. All those infected have gone into home isolation. The entire court campus is being sanitised and disinfected. Due to the closure of the court on Wednesday and Thursday, hearings have now been fixed for January 21.

According to an order of the District Judge, the hearing of the bail application to be held in the Sessions Court on January 19 and 20 will now be held on January 25 and 27 respectively. Whereas the hearing of the bail application fixed in the magistrate court will now be held on January 21 and 24 respectively.

Similarly, criminal cases fixed on January 19 and 20 will now be heard on February 1 and 2 respectively and civil cases will be heard on February 18 and 21 respectively.
