Brajesh Pathak Raids Medical Supplies Corporation, Finds Expired Medicine Worth Rs 16.40 Crore

Lucknow, May 20 (TNA) Continuing with his imitable style of suprise inspections and raids and government medical facilities, the Uttar Pradesh deputy chief minister Brajesh Pathak on Friday raided the warehouse of Medical Supplies Corporation.

An aghast Pathak found expired medicines worth Rs 16.40 crores lying in the godowns unused. Medicines worth crores did not ever reach the patients and were dumped to expire here, the deputy CM noticed.

It has been found that the medical supplies were not made by the Corporation. Pathak got the entire place videographed and seized some documents. He has also ordered a probe, report of which has to be submitted to him within the enxt three days.

An irked Pathak said he will not allow anybody guilty to escape and that the callous officials will be brought to justice. “Every penny of public money will be recovered” he promised.
