Allahabad HC Stays 'Second Suspension' Served On Dr Kafeel Khan

Prayagraj, Sep 14 (TNA) The Allahabad High Court has stayed the suspension orders on former Baba Raghav Das Medical College, Gorakhpur paediatrician Dr Kafeel Khan, served on July 31, 2019. The doctor was accused that he had forcefully treated patients at the Bahraich District Hospital.

Khan was also accused of having spoken out critically against the policies of the government. This was the second time he had been suspended, when he was already under suspension following the August 2017 tragedy at BRD Medical College.

This order of the High Court, Khan said, "has revived my hopes that the esteemed High Court on September 22 will find it appropriate to revoke my first suspension also, so that I can return to treating my child patients at the earliest" the suspended doctor said.

He also thanked his lawyers Manish Nigam, Manoj Kumar, Krishna Nand Tiwari, Fuzail Ayubi and Ibad Mushtaq.
