After Crushing Defeat In Assembly Polls, Rahul Gandhi “Accepts Verdict”, Says Will Learn From This

Lucknow, March 10 (TNA) After a crushing defeat in the five states that went to polls, specially in Punjab and Uttarakhand, where it hoped to do much better, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Thursday accepeted “people’s verdict” and wished the people and parties who had “won the mandate”.

“Humbly accept the people’s verdict. Best wishes to those who have won the mandate. My gratitude to all Congress workers and volunteers for their hard work and dedication. We will learn from this and keep working for the interests of the people of India” he said in a Tweet.

Congress was voted out of power in Punjab and IN UP its tally came down to two from seven whereas it continued to fare badly in Goa, Manipur and even Uttarakhand, where many pollsters predicted its come back to power.
