After A Long Gap, UP Shows Rise In Covid Cases As Noida, Ghaziabad, Lucknow And Agra Show An Upswing

Lucknow, March 21 (TNA) After a long time span of a plateau of Covid cases and some time even a steady decline, fresh cases of the virus picked up across Uttar Pradesh on Monday, leading to worry that the festival of Holi might have caused some worrying spike.

According to the data released by the state government, total cases reported in UP in the last 24-hours was 54, which is much higher than 11 which was the tally just a day ago.

Fresh Covid cases in the state capital Lucknow rose to 8 from just three a day back, while the reported cases in Noida stood at 17, the highest in the state. On Sunday, this number was just 1. Gorakhpur reported two cases, Ghaziabad 10 against one just a day back and Agra reported five new cases as against just one on Sunday.

UP so far, since the ooutbreak of Coronavirus in March 2020 has logged 20 lakh plus cases while 23,492 people have died due to the deadly virus, according to the state’s health department.
