UP’s Top Bureaucrats ‘Keep’ Govt Vehicles Against Rules

LUCKNOW || According to information provided by UP Estates Department to activist Nutan Thakur the Chief Secretary and Secretaries of the Chief Minister have more vehicles with them than permitted under the Government rules.

As per the information provided by PIO G P Tiwari, 06 officers of the State have 02 or more vehicles attached with them. Chief Secretary R K Tiwari has 02 vehicles, Additional Chief Secretary

Senior IAS official Mukul Singhal has 3, CM Principal Secretary and Secretary S P Goyal, Sanjay Prasad and Alok Kumar have 2 vehicles each and Assistant State Estate Officer Ajit Kumar Singh has 02 vehicles with him.

Another information by the Estates Department says that there is no Government rule or order that permits an officer to keep 2 vehicles. It says that allotment of government vehicles is regulated by GOs dated 8 September 1965 and 21 April 2006.

As per Nutan Thakur, none of these GOs permits any officer to keep more than one vehicle. She has called a violation of these rules by Chief Secretary and CM Secretaries as rather serious.
