UP Steps Up Vigil Against Coronavirus, Isolation Ward In Every District

LUCKNOW || With reports that three people have shown symptoms of the dreaded ‘Novel Coronavirus’ in New Delhi, the Uttar Pradesh government has begun preparations against it. Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, an official said on Tuesday, held a late-night meeting with health department officials on Monday and took stock of the preparedness of the government to contain the outbreak.

The virus, which has surfaced in China, has no treatment so far and has led to a worldwide scare.

Adityanath directed health officials to set up 10-bed isolation ward in every district hospital and medical college in the state and also ensure that in case of a case being reported the patient is immediately isolated.

Police have also been asked to ensure that all the people crossing the Nepal border are screened thoroughly. All airports in the state have also been put on alert.
