LUCKNOW || With a huge surge in case of COVID infections across the state, Uttar Pradesh has ordered a lockdown beginning Friday. This will be in force for the next three days and during this lockdown, every thing, other than the emergency services, will be closed between 10 pm to 5 am.
Coronavirus cases in the state have crossed the 31000 mark and 845 people have lost their lives. The decision of the state government comes at a time when the state was in middle of unlock 2.0.
Chief Secretary RK Tiwari has issued orders that all shops, business establishments will be closed during the lockdown.
The state government has already ordered a cleanliness and sanitisation drive for July 10, 11 and 12. There are serious apprehensions that based on the “three-day trial” the state government might decide to go in for a long lockdown as people are not following social distancing norms in public places.
However, flights and trains will continue to operate. Health services and essential services will continue.
