UP Businessman’s Grandson Kidnapped In Gonda, Ransom Sought

LUCKNOW || On a day that the Uttar Pradesh government and Police faced all-round flak for the killing of a 27-year-old youth in Kanpur, who was kidnapped last month and a ransom of Rs 30 lakh was also paid, an 8-year-old boy was kidnapped from Gonda.

Criminals came to the house of a businessman on the pretext of selling masks and sanitisers and as the gate open they picked up the boy and fled. The kidnappers have made a ransom call to the family in which they have reportedly asked for a bog amount.

Rattled at the back-to-back kidnappings, the state government has assigned the case to the Special Task Force (STF). They have been asked to crack the case at the earliest, ensure the safe return of the child and arrest of the people behind the crime.

Samajwadi Party (SP) president Akhilesh Yadav blasted the UP government on the kidnapping and said that the BJP government which talked of encountering criminals seems to have been encountered by criminals.
