LUCKNOW/NEW DELHI || Condition of the Unnao gang-rape victim who was also set ablaze by the perpetrators worsened on Friday after which she was put on ventilator support, hospital sources said. She had been airlifted to the union capital from Lucknow on Thursday and admitted to the Safdarjung hospital.
Medical Superintendent of Safdarjung Hospital, Dr Sunil Gupta has said that the victim who suffered 90% burn injuries was “in very serious condition” and that there “are minimal chances of survival“.
He also informed that she has now been put on ventilator support. Sources said that the victim had suffered serious internal injuries to two of her organs and that infection had set in the body. Doctors were planning two surgeries on her on Friday but due to her critical condition, they have for now aborted it.
Meanwhile, there are reports that the relatives and family of the victim have received death threats on the phone. They live in Unnao district of Uttar Pradesh.
