LUCKNOW || Due to the Coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdown in the country, university exams in the state of Uttar Pradesh may finally be done away with for the current academic year.
According to informed sources, the Prof SK Tanjea, vice-chancellor of the Chowdhary Charan Singh University, Meerut-led four-member committee constituted by the state government to assess the feasibility of conducting the examinations has recommended that the exams be cancelled.
The committee has also recommended formula for promotions, officials said. According to the deputy chief minister Dinesh Sharma, the government will take a final decision on the matter after July 2. UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had chaired a high-level meeting go officials on Monday on this very crucial matter.
