LAAYOUNE || The Union of Comoros this week opened a consulate general in Laâyoune. The inauguration ceremony of the said consulate general was chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans residing abroad, Nasser BOURITA, and his Comorian counterpart, Souef Mohamed EL AMINE.
In a statement to the press, the consul general of the Union of Comoros in Laâyoune, Sayed Omar Sayed Hassan noted that the opening by his country of a consulate general in Laâyoune, “capital of the Moroccan Sahara“, constitutes an “honour “for the Union of Comoros.
“The opening of this consulate confirms the Moroccanity of the Sahara and the fraternal ties between our two countries,” he said.
The Comorian diplomat invited all African countries to follow the example of his country and to open diplomatic representations in the cities of the Moroccan Sahara.
