LUCKNOW || Tributes poured in from all quarters for late Rajya Sabha member Amar Singh on Saturday as the news of his demise at a medical facility in Singapore was broken to the political fraternity in Uttar Pradesh. His political alma mater, Samajwadi Party (SP) mourned his demise with a picture of Amar Singh with party founder Mulayam Singh.
Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, who had a bitter fall out with Singh also paid tributes to the late leader by posting his picture along with his father and himself.
UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath, deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, SBSP chief Om Prakash Rajbhar, Prayagraj MP Rita Bahuguna Joshi and many other leaders expressed their condolences on the demise of Amar Singh.
Amar Singh hailed from Azamgarh but studied and was brought up in Kolkata. He rose to eminence on the national political scene in 1996 with his friendship with SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav.
