LUCKNOW || Samajwadi Party (SP) leader IP Singh on Thursday questioned the “double-speak” of the Yogi Adityanath-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in the state on allowing movement of political leaders.
Raising the point, he said while BJP state chief Swatantra Dev Singh earlier in the day roamed around freely in the state capital, distributing literature of the ruling party on completion of one-year of Narendra Modi government at the centre, leaders of the opposition parties were being targeted and victimised.
He went on to demand that Singh be arrested for his “open and brazen political campaign” when the state was still under the COVID-19 lockdown. “Samajwadi Party workers were arrested for distributing food to the marginalised, UP chief of the Congress has been arrested for similar work for the people…why then can BJP go ahead with political activity” he added.
Swatantra Dev Singh on Thursday kicked off the ‘Parivaar Sampark‘ (Family Connect) campaign of the party in Mankameshwar Ward and nearby areas of the state capital.
