LUCKNOW || With a young man in Shamli being confirmed positive for the dreaded novel Coronavirus, the number of infected persons in Uttar Pradesh rose to 34 on Tuesday, an official said. He further informed that the youth had returned from Dubai to his home in Kairana.
So far eight persons each have been found infected in Lucknow, Agra and Noida while three persons have been found infected with COVID-19 in Ghaziabad and one each in Lakhimpur Kheri, Moradabad, Varanasi, Kanpur, Shamli, Pilibhit and Jaunpur. On Monday, an official said, 49 suspected patients were tested for Coronavirus.
In all, across Uttar Pradesh, more than 1500 samples have been tested of which 1325 are negative. 131 suspected patients are awaiting the report. 11 patients have returned home after recovery. 17 districts of UP are under complete lockdown after the spread of the virus.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed the police and district officials to ensure that the lockdown is implemented in toto and that people flouting the order are booked.
