Red-Faced Over Audio Tape, Yogi Summons Minister Swati Singh

LUCKNOW || Left red-faced with an audiotape of a minister in the Uttar Pradesh government Swati Singh going viral, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Saturday summoned the minister and sought an explanation on the matter. The lady minister has been caught on phone warning and intimidating a circle officer to mend her ways in a matter related to a builder or face the consequences.

In the alleged audio of hers, Swati Singh, wife of senior BJP leader Daya Shankar Singh, tells the police officer that the matter was in notice of the chief minister as well and it would be better that she came and met her “to sort the things out”. Under heavy fire from opposition parties and public outcry, the saffron-robed chief minister called Swati Singh and explain her position.

Sources say, the chief minister was livid at the audiotape and was seeking a go-ahead from the central leadership of the BJP to go ahead and sack the minister.

The 41-year-old minister of State for NRI, Flood Control, Agriculture export, Agriculture Marketing, Agriculture Foreign Trade and state minister in the Ministry of Women Welfare, Family Welfare, Maternity and Child Welfare in the Government of Uttar Pradesh, is heard in the tape telling the CO Been Singh that if she wanted to continue working as the CO of Cantonment she needs to close an FIR.
