LUCKNOW || Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Saturday rote to Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath, seeking his permission to allow buses on roads which her party wills to sponsor for the migrant workers to reach home.
In her letter to the monk-turned-politicians, the Congress leader has said that her party offers to run 1000 buses to bring these migrant labourers to their homes in the state. The National builders cannot be left like this to fend for themselves, she added.
A delegation of party leaders, led by Ajay Kumar Lallu, the state president of the Congress, handed over the letter to the chief minister’s office in the day. Vadra also highlighted in her letter, the plight of the thousands of labourers who during the lockdown due to COVID-19 walking to their homes, many meeting road accidents.
The Congress leader has said, understanding her responsibility, the party was ready to offer 500 buses at the Noida border and 500 buses at the Ghazipur border in Ghaziabad.
