LUCKNOW || Senior Principal Scientist, CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute, Prabodh Trivedi, has taken charge as Director of CSIR-CIMAP from Dr Abdul Samad, an official informed on Friday. Trivedi has been coordinating research activities of the Molecular Biology and Biotechnology Division at the CSIR-NBRI.
His group has been working in the area of elucidation and engineering of pathways involved in the biosynthesis of medicinally important plant molecules and Environmental Biotechnology.
Research carried out by Trivedi has been recognised by various science academies and institutions for his contribution to plant science. He is an elected Fellow of the Indian National Science Academy (FNA), National Academy of Agriculture Sciences, India (FNAAS) and National Academy of Sciences, India (FNASc).
He is also a recipient of Tata Innovation Fellowship of the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India. Trivedi has supervised thirteen PhD students and published more than 150 research publications in International journals.
