Police’s Report On Sex-Power Aiding, Obesity Ads Quashed By Court

LUCKNOW || The Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) of Lucknow, Meera Gothalwal has quashed the final report sent by Police in the FIR registered by Lucknow based IPS officer Amitabh Thakur and activist Nutan Thakur in the Gomti Nagar police station, Lucknow against various companies and people as regards advertisements on sex-power, obesity etc.

In the FIR registered by Amitabh and Nutan in April 2013, 21 companies and individuals including Sri Sai Safed Daag, Capsule More Power, Sex Grow Power, Titanic K 2 Capsule, Yoko Pharmacy, Dr P K Jain Clinic, Dr A K Jain Clinic, Jolly Bawasir, Altaz Dawakhana, Paras Medico, Hashmi Dawakhana, D Fit Capsule, Sanyasi Clinic had been accused of publishing advertisements in violation of Drugs and magic Remedies (Objectionable Advertisement) Act 1954, in which the Police submitted its Final Report. Nutan had presented her Protest application against this Final report.

CJM said in her order that as per Nutan Investigating Officer (IO) Awadh Kishor Shukla had given clean chit to accused Dr Arun Kumar Jain and Dr Paran Kumar Jain after taking their statements, without verifying any of their claims. Similarly, instead of trying to locate the other accused persons through their phone numbers, the IO’s wrongly claimed to be searching for them in the town, while presenting their Final Report.

CJM Gothalwal accepted the Protest application and directed Inspector Gomtinagar to further investigate the matter.
