LUCKNOW || Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday condoled the loss of lives due to a road accident in Kannauj, Uttar Pradesh. While expressing sorrow and grief at the untimely demise of 20 bus passengers in the mishap, he also prayed for speedy recovery of all those who were injured in the incident.
Twenty people died after a bus carrying 46 passengers collided with a truck in Uttar Pradesh’s Kannauj district and caught fire on Friday evening.
Twenty one passengers were rescued and taken to hospital, police said. The police said there was a head-on collision between the truck and the private sleeper bus that was headed to Jaipur.
UP chief minister Yogi Adityanath, other than asking officials of the district to go and rescue those injured has also announced an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh to the kin of those who were killed in the mishap and Rs 50,000 each to the injured.
