BULANDSHAHR || Seven persons were run over by a speeding passenger bus in Narora area of Bulandshahr district of Uttar Pradesh on Friday morning, police said. The deceased include four women and three children. They ere sleeping on the roadside after a dip in the holy Ganga. The accident took place at the Shamshan Ghat road.
Senior police officials and district authorities including sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Sanjay Kumar, circle officer (CO) Vikram Singh rushed to the scene of the accident and oversaw the relief operation and shifting of the injured to a nearby medical facility.
All the deceased were returning from a pilgrimage to Vishnu Devi. Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed his grief at the loss of lives and has announced financial compensation of Rs 2-2 lakh each to the bereaved families of the victims.
