Ola Deploys ‘Safety Scouts’, QRT’s For Passenger Safety On New Year’s Eve

NEW DELHI || Ola, India’s largest mobility platform and one of the world’s largest ride-hailing companies on Monday announced its initiative of deploying hundreds of Safety Scouts across Delhi – NCR, Bangalore, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Pune, Chennai and Kolkata on New Year’s Eve.

This team comprising of both male and female personnel are specially trained by Ola to help provide safety and mobility support to citizens in high traffic areas on December 31. Additionally, Ola is also deploying Quick Response Teams, a special fleet of cars with a first aid kit, and trained personnel to attend to emergency situations through the night.

The ride-hailing company has also collaborated with the Police in cities like Pune, to support their on-ground efforts. Ola’s Quick Response team cars in the city, will also have lady police constables on-board to support existing police fleet and attend to any SOS calls from women.

These initiatives follow Ola’s national roll-out of its AI-enabled safety feature, ‘Guardian’ which uses real-time data from rides to automatically detect irregular trip activity and triggers a phone call by Ola’s Safety Response Team. Ola’s efforts to deploy on-ground safety personnel reinforces its commitment to foster a safe mobility experience for our citizens.

Speaking about the initiative, Arun Srinivas, Chief Sales & Marketing Officer, Ola, said, “At Ola, we are committed to our mission of building mobility for a billion people and building a safe experience is an integral part of this mission. Having adopted a holistic approach to safety, Ola leads the industry with its benchmark measures including ‘Guardian’, the One-Time-Password (OTP) system, emergency button feature and driver authentication practices. The company’s commitment to safety has seen it collaborate with local authorities to launch multiple road safety initiatives across the country.

Ola was founded in 2011 by Bhavish Aggarwal and Ankit Bhati with a mission to build mobility for a billion people.
