Muzaffarnagar Police Busts Major Inter-State Drug Racket

MUZAFFARNAGAR || The Muzaffarnagar police have smashed a major drug racket running in the district and arrested four inter-state drug operators, police said. More than Rs 1.5 crore worth of drug injectables has also been seized from them. The ‘Zero Drug’ operation was being run under the instructions of SSP Muzaffarnagar Abhishek Yadav and acting on a tip-off the police acted upon the information and busted the gang.

The drug gang was operating in Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Baghpat, Shamli, Saharanpur, Agra, Aligarh, Ghaziabad and some other districts of Uttar Pradesh as well.

According to the police, they would also supply drug injections and tablets like Tramadol, Lorazepam, Alprazolam and Foridol in neighbouring states of Haryana, Punjab, Uttarakhand as well.

Police have seized 54 varieties of drugs and 14 other samples have been done. “We have recovered more than seven lakh tablets, 20,000 injections and 1.5 thousand bottles of syrups,” an official told The News Agency.
