LUCKNOW || Amid a raging controversy over two legislations of the Narendra Modi government – the NRC and the CAA, the beleaguered Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday got some surprise support from Aparna Yadav, younger daughter-in-law of Samajwadi Party (SP) founder Mulayam Singh Yadav.
In a Tweet, Yadav, known for her clear cut views on many important issues, said that she thought anybody who is an Indian should not be afraid of the NRC.
“If you are an Indian, what’s the fuss in entering your name and details in the NRC” she further stated. She is a member of the SP and had unsuccessfully contested the 2017 state assembly polls from Cantt in Lucknow. She is associated with several social causes. The statement might invite more trouble for her as her party and SP chief Akhilesh Yadav have openly slammed the NRC and have opposed it.
