Mulayam Mourns Jaitley’s Death, Says He Will Be Missed For Long

LUCKNOW || Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav on Saturday mourned the passing away of the BJP stalwart Arun Jaitley and termed it a personal loss. In a statement issued by his office, the three-time UP chief minister said that not only was the late leader an iconic lawyer but an orator par excellence.

His speeches, the Samajwadi Party (SP) founder said would be remembered for long as they have been etched in history. In his various capacities as defence minister, finance and information & broadcasting minister, Jaitley, the Yadav chieftain added, left an indelible mark of his upright nature and honesty.

Yadav also recalled how Jaitley had friends across the political spectrum and added that he would be missed for a long time. He also prayed for peace to the departed soul and wished strength to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss. 66-year-old Jaitley died earlier on Saturday after being at AIIMS for more than a fortnight after his lungs caught the infection and he had difficulty in breathing.
