NEW DELHI || Madhya Pradesh chief minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday met his one-time arch rival but now a Rajya Sabha member of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jyotiraditya Scindia at the latter’s residence in the union capital.
During the brief meeting, the two leaders exchanged pleasantries while Chouhan enquired about the health of Scindia who has recently recouped from the dreaded Coronavirus.
The MP chief minister also greeted the former Congress leader on being elected to the Rajya Sabha. Scindia also handed over a cheque of Rs 30 lakh to the Chief Ministers Relief Fund for which Chouhan thanked him. Chouhan is in Delhi to meet prime minister Narendra Modi, union ministers Narendra Singh Tomar and Amit Shah, ahead of his cabinet’s expansion.
Scindia, along with 22 legislators of the Congress had joined the BJP after quitting Congress earlier this year after which the Kamalnath government in Madhya Pradesh collapsed, paving way for the return of Chouhan as the states chief minister.
