Mercury Drops, UP Shivers, School Timings Changed In Lucknow

LUCKNOW || With incessant snowfall in the neighbouring hill state of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh is in grip of an extreme cold wave. Not surprisingly as people shivered with no signs of sun throughout the day, the schools have been closed in some parts of the state.

All government, private, aided schools in the state capital have changed timings now, a notice from the district magistrate of Lucknow informed. The school timings in the state capital now for pre-nursery to class VIII are from 10 am to 3 pm.

Snowing and day temperatures have shattered a 22-year record in Uttarakhand on Tuesday. In four districts of the hill state, it was the sub-zero temperature on Tuesday. The cold wave, due to a westerly disturbance has intensified in most parts of Uttar Pradesh, including in central, western and eastern UP.
