Media To Seek Damages From UP Government Over Mob Violence

LUCKNOW || As violence singed many parts of the state of Uttar Pradesh, including the state capital Lucknow over CAA protests, media has been a target of the mob and has also been caught in the cross-fire between the police and the berserk crowd.

As a result, many media persons have been targeted in the city, their cameras and other equipment smashed and even OB vans have been vandalised and set ablaze.

The State Accredited Journalists Association has constituted a committee to assess the damage done to the media establishments and individuals in the Thursday violence in Lucknow. President of the Journalist’s body, Hemant Tiwari informed that a letter after due assessment of the damages will be sent to the state government through the director information (DI).
