LUCKNOW || In the middle of the national lockdown owing to COVID-19, a sleepy village in Lucknow was shocked on Thursday as a man butchered his entire family of six, apparently in a fit of rage over a property dispute, police said. The incident took place in Godauli village of Banthara.
The accused slaughtered the entire family that included his father, mother, brother, sister-in-law, a minor nephew and niece. The accused then went to the police station and told shell-shocked police that he had murdered six members of his family. He was immediately arrested.
Initial investigation reveals that Amar Singh (now deceased) had some time back divided his property between his two sons – Ajay and Arun. The two were in a dispute thereafter. They had a tiff on Thursday evening, which turned ugly and Ajay attacked his father, mother Ram Dulari, brother Arun, sister-in-law Ram Sakhi, nephew Saurabh (9) and Sarika (3).
