Madarsa Teacher In West Bengal Thrown Off Train For Refusing To Chant Jai Shri Ram

Kolkata || A teacher at a local Madarsa in West Bengal was thrown off a train by some men after he refused to chant Jai Shri Ram, police said on Wednesday. He was also brutally assaulted before being thrown off. He has since filed a police complaint and an investigation is underway.

A Government Railway Police (GRP) official has been quoted by the media saying that 28-year-old Hafeez Mohammad Shahrukh Haldar, a Madarsa teacher in 24 Pargana, has alleged in his complaint that he was assaulted by a group when he was on a train, going from Canning to Hoogly.

Haldar told the police that a group approached him and asked him to chant Jai Shri Ram and when he refused, as the train was approaching the Park Circus station, they pushed him off from the train, he has sustained injuries in his hand and eyes and a medical has been conducted.

GRP has lodged an FIR against unidentified persons and an investigation has begun to try and identify the assailants.
