LUCKNOW || The pitter-patter on Wednesday turned into a heavy downpour through the night as people in Uttar Pradesh’s state capital Lucknow woke up to a rainy morning on Thursday. Predictably the rains threw normal life out of gear. A heavy drop in mercury has been recorded and the Regional Met Office predicted continued rains till the weekend.
All schools for classes up to VIII have already been closed due to the inclement weather. According to the office of the district magistrate, the decision was taken following inclement weather and keeping in mind the “safety and health of children“.
An official told The News Agency that decision about the schools for Friday would be taken keeping in mind the weather conditions. According to the weatherman, rains are likely to continue till Sunday and that weather will get more chilled in the coming days.
Rain and hailstorm are likely to occur in eastern, central and western UP in the next 48-hours. Heavy rains are likely to occur in Lucknow, Amroha, Bulandshahr, Noida, Ghaziabad, Baghpat, Meerut, Muzaffarnagar, Ambedkarnagar, Sant Kabeernagar, Basti, Faizabad, Shamli and Saharanpur.
