LUCKNOW || After much suspense and heart breaks among the Lucknow Metro workers, the Uttar Pradesh government has finally given a two-year extension to the Lucknow Metro Rail Corporation (LMRC) managing director Kumar Keshav. An official said that Keshav has been given an extension from August 17, 2019 to August 17, 2021.
The Urban Planning Department of the Uttar Pradesh government had earlier advised to issue a notification for appointment of Managing Director on account of completion of tenure of MD LMRC on17-8-2019.
Accordingly, the LMRC had issued the notification for appointment for the post of Managing Director on July 13, 2019.
However, on second thoughts, apparently after seeing the impeccable track record of the LMRC MD and the fact that he had completed the work on the challenging Lucknow Metro Rail between Amausi Airport to Munshipuliya much before the deadline, reversed its earlier decision and gave him a two-year extension.
The Department has also advised the LMRC authorities “to immediately cancel the recruitment notification for the post of Managing Director, that was issued on 13.07.2019“. The decision brings cheer to the LMRC staff who saw Kumar Keshav as a “worthy captain of the team“.
