LUCKNOW || The much-awaited annual fair – Lucknow Mahotsava will be held at the Ramabai Ambedkar grounds in the state capital from January 17, it was announced by district authorities on Saturday. A meeting to decide on the dates was held earlier in the day and it was decided that the fair would be held between January 17-January 23, 2020.
The Lucknow Mahotsava had earlier been postponed following security concerns in wake of the Supreme Court (SC) verdict on the Ram Janma Bhoomi case.
According to an official statement then, the decision to push back the annual cultural and social extravaganza was taken after the review of the security scenario, especially in wake of the much-awaited RJB verdict by the apex court.
The Mahotsava was to take place from November 25 and preparations were underway for the same. District Magistrate of the state capital, Abhishek Prakash said the decision has been taken after due deliberations among administrative and law enforcing district officials.
