LUCKNOW || In a city that is inclined to arts and culture, artists like Dheeraj Yadav are not hard to find. As someone who has the distinction of being part of a Residency at the Rashtrapati Bhawan at the national capital, Dheeraj holds his own as an artist in the Lucknow paradigm.
As someone working in close coordination with the Lalit Kala Akademi, he is showcasing a unique 25 piece art exhibition titled Moods in the state capital of Uttar Pradesh. Inaugurated by the Principal Dean Arts College Vandana Sehgal, the exhibition is underway at City Mall Atrium, Gomti Nagar.
All artworks on display in this exhibition are figurative. Each one of the display primarily revolves around the multiple moods of a woman and her emotions, says Dheeraj Yadav. As an essential part of the universe, the artist tries to celebrate womanhood and the power of the Modern Day woman who is second to none.
Dheeraj notably has done two such exhibitions before. Each of the artworks has been given shape with the use of watercolours on paper and canvas. A week-long art exhibition it hopes to raise a toast to the modern Naari through artistic sensibilities.
Dheeraj in 2017 was part of a residency at the Rashtrapati Bhawan between March 4 to March 18. He was the second artist to be bestowed upon that honour from Uttar Pradesh. As someone who has contributed to the art world quietly, he is a recipient of several awards including the State Lalit Kala Akademi award.
A resident of Allahabad, Dheeraj Yadav did his graduation in Fine Arts in 2012. He did his Masters in Fine Arts in 2014. He got the state Lalit Kala award in 2010. In 2015 he got the IFACS award and in 2016 he got a National award in his domain.
He has been acknowledged for his work on different platforms and has done many shows to showcase his work at different levels. At present, he is employed with the Lalit Kala Akademi as an independent artist using his creative bent of mind.
