LUCKNOW || Former Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh on Monday appeared before a special CBI court hearing the Babri demolition case and recorded his statement. Arriving at the special court premises amid tight security and swarming media persons, lensmen, he was taken with the help of the aides inside the court.
Police later cordoned off the court premises due to the rush. The former Uttar Pradesh chief minister, under whose watch the 16th-century mosque was razed by overzealous Kar Sevaks on December 6, 1992, was wearing a black mask due to the Coronavirus pandemic and he did not talk to the waiting press reporters.
49 persons were named in the case of FIR. Uma Bharati recorded her statement a few days ago and so did Sadhvi Ritambhara.
CBI after investigations had filed a charge sheet against all the 49 in the special CBI court. Of these 17 including Vishnu Hari Dalmia, Ashok Singhal, Giriraj Kishore, Moreshwar Save, Mahant Avaidhyanath, Bala Saheb Thackeray has passed away.
The special CBI court, on the directives of the Supreme Court, is holding daily hearings and the case has been mandated to go through final verdict by August 31.
