Violence On Assam-Mizoram Border: Rahul Gandhi Accuses Amit Shah Of "Sowing Hatred"

New Delhi, July 27 (TNA) Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday targeted the union home minister Amit Shah and squarely blamed him for the incident. "HM has failed the country yet again by sowing hatred and distrust into the lives of people. India is now reaping its dreadful consequences," he said in a Tweet.

The Gandhi scion also expressed his "heartfelt condolences" to the families of those who’ve been killed in clashes on the Mizoram-Assam border In a morning tweet, the Congress leader also prayed for speedy recovery of those injured in the violence that left nine Assam police personnel dead.

80 people, including officials, were also injured in firing by Mizoram police and alleged Mizo intruders along the inter-state border in Cachar’s Lailapur on Monday as a boundary dispute festering for 25-odd years escalated into full-blown violence involving security forces and civilians on either side.
