With the opening up of Public spaces , and the Schools and Colleges also in the line up, Uma Raghuraman’s Book My Genius Lunch Box could not have come at a more opportune moment. The Child’s Lunchbox is every Parents daily ritual and a challenge at that.

To provide for their Kids a meal which could not only excite but relax them as well. The challenge of Kids returning home with Half-eaten lunch boxes, or leaving their lunch boxes for the Canteen food , or opening their Lunch box and seeing the routine packed food with a frown, is a nightmare for every Mom.

The author has navigated herself into a space which has been left unattended for years and her presentation of possible alternatives and diverse recipes is a breath of fresh air for all Parents. The author’s question has been answered by herself as probably the reason why she ventured ahead on this project

” What are some of the top issues faced by every parent who has a school-going kid?

1. Preparing the lunch box early in the morning and quickly too

2. Packing it with something new every day so that your kids look forward to lunchtime

3. Making a delicious and nutritious meal that won’t tempt them to eat junk foods or bring back a half eaten lunch box.

4. Presenting everyday food attractively, and in a way that’s easy to consume on the playground or the bus

The book offers 50 Recipes for 365 days and in One Lunch Box . Carefully planned , nutritious and simple Vegetarian recipes

Featuring Stunning photographs the book is divided into six sections: One for each Weekday and a bonus section that includes recipes for bite-sized snacks.

A very very interesting foray into a less intruded space

In fact I would go further by saying these recipes would also be ideal for all the Moms , Husbands as well as a take away for their own Working Lunch, which again is a nightmare for all Wives . The recipes I feel would do justice as well to us Working guys / girls as well

I am going to present this book to my Darling Wife – are you going to do the same? Kudos to the author.
