Mayawati's Nephew Akash Anand Makes His Twitter Debut

Lucknow, July 12 (TNA) Nephew of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati, Akash Anand made a quiet debut on micro-blogging site Twitter on Monday.

The young face of the BSP, is the national coordinator of the party and is known to be a close aide to her aunt, the four-time Uttar Pradesh chief minister.

He is know to dabble its technology fairly well, keeping in mind, the standards of his party, which relies more on grassroots and Dalit-centric politics and is seen by many as an obvious choice for Mayawati to be her successor.

In his biodata on twitter, Anand has said he was a young man who has come to support the vision of Dr BR Aambedkar, education for all and empowerment of the marginalised.

He has sent two tweets so far - the first being a quote of the architect of the Indian constitution and the second on price rise of fuel.

Terming it bad governance and bad economics, he has written: Despite the low crude oil prices, the Petrol and Diesel prices have seen a surge of 77% and 66%, respectively in the last 7 years. High fuel prices mean high inflation. This is not just bad economics but also bad governance.

In the past few years he has been seen in public engagements by the side of her aunt and he now holds an official position in the party.
