KANPUR || The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur has extended the date of application for aspirants from Jammu and Kashmir for the Joint Admission Test for MSc (JAM) 2020, an official said on Thursday. The exam is slated to be held on February 9, 2020.
“The window for receiving the JAM 2020 application was open from September 5 to October 9, 2019” the official further informed while adding that during this period 346 candidates from J&K registered for the exams.
It was also explained that following a communique from the Union HRD ministry, that some aspirants from the J&K might have missed the opportunity to apply to owe to non-availability of the internet in the region.
The Internet has not been up in the region since the Article 370 was scrapped by the NDA government at the centre. The JAM committee has now decided to re-open the application process for “only J&K aspirants” to facilitate them with another chance of registration.
