LUCKNOW || Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati on Monday spoke on the harrowing rape and murder of a vet in Hyderabad a few days back and demanded that justice be done to the bereaved family. The four-time Uttar Pradesh chief minister took to Twitter to express her sadness, concern and angst against the heart-wrenching incident that shook the nation.
“The public outrage on the rape and murder of the girl in Hyderabad is natural,” she said while adding that the incident was very saddening and condemnable. She also demanded from the Telangana government that it act tough against the perpetrators of the crime and ensure speedy and stringent punishment to them.
Only a stringent action will bring justice to the family which has lost its daughter in the most barbaric and sad manner, the Dalit leader said further.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has already ordered immediate constitution of a fast track court to try the accused in the rape and murder of a veterinarian at Shadnagar.
He gave instructions in this regard to officials on Sunday while discussing measures to speed up the trial of the case and severe punishment to accused. He also asked them to start the process of setting up the fast track court immediately, a state government press release said.
