Mumbai, October 6 (TNA) Indian equity markets opened marginally higher on Tuesday, supported by positive global cues and easing crude oil prices. The 30-share BSE Sensex rose 125.58 points, or 0.17%, to open at 72,508.05, while the NSE Nifty 50 gained 47.50 points, or 0.21%, to 22,603.25.
The market opened after a positive session on Monday, when the Sensex closed at 72,382.47, and the Nifty settled at 22,555.75. Market sentiment was aided by gains in Asian equities and a tech-led rally on Wall Street, while investors continued to monitor crude oil prices, bond yields and foreign fund flows.
Trent was among the prominent gainers in early trade, rising sharply, while the broader market also witnessed positive participation. Reports said 2,099 stocks advanced against 873 declines on the NSE in early trading.
Investors are also awaiting the Reserve Bank of India’s monetary-policy decision, which is expected to remain a key market trigger.
