Almora, September 1 (TNA) Three members of a family died after heavy rain triggered a landslide in Udyuda village under Hawalbagh development block in Almora district on Tuesday morning. Large boulders and debris slid from the hill and entered a residential house, trapping the people inside.
The deceased have been identified as Prema Devi (41), wife of Rajendra Ram, and her son Manish (17) and daughter Kalpana (19). The incident caused panic in the area, and rescue teams from the SDRF and district disaster management department immediately reached the site.
A relief and rescue operation was launched, and the trapped people were taken out after several hours of effort, but all three had died by then.

The tragedy comes amid continuous rainfall in the region, which has increased the risk of landslides and debris flow in hilly areas.
